Discover Asher's Africana Pure Vegetarian Restaurant, a welcoming family-run dining spot at 224 Ealing Rd, Wembley HA0 4QL, United Kingdom, with enquiries available at +44 20 8795 2455. Specialising in authentic Gujarati vegetarian cooking, this understated restaurant focuses on the comforting flavours of home rather than elaborate presentation. For anyone seeking Asher's Africana Pure Vegetarian Restaurant in Wembley, the appeal lies in freshly prepared food, generous portions, warm hospitality, and approachable prices. The restaurant currently carries a strong 4.7 Google rating from more than 1,000 reviews, with typical spending around £10–£20 per person.
The Gujarati Thali is the best introduction to the kitchen. A traditional plate brings together freshly made rotis, vegetable curries, dal, rice, yoghurt, and papad, allowing diners to experience several flavours and textures in a single meal. Recent visitors particularly praise the small-batch preparation, freshly cooked chapatis, and home-style quality. For diners unfamiliar with Gujarati cuisine, the thali provides excellent variety without requiring knowledge of individual dishes.
Another combination worth seeking out is Black Chana with Undhiyu. Black chickpeas bring an earthy, hearty character, while undhiyu offers the layered vegetable flavours associated with Gujarati home cooking. Returning customers have specifically highlighted both dishes for their seasoning and authenticity. Methi Bhajia is equally tempting for anyone wanting a snack: these freshly fried fenugreek fritters provide a crisp exterior and fragrant, savoury centre. Pani puri, masala mogo, aloo paratha, puran poli, and other traditional snacks further expand the selection.
Vegetarian diners are obviously the core audience, but the restaurant also has considerable appeal for vegans. Vegan-focused reviewers report that much of the menu can be suitable and that staff understand vegan requirements, although it is sensible to confirm individual dishes when ordering. Compared with trendier vegetarian restaurants in London, the emphasis here is less on plant-based imitation products and more on naturally meat-free recipes rooted in Gujarati tradition.
Customer feedback repeatedly emphasizes freshness, hospitality, and value. One recent diner described the food as “fresh flavourful and clearly prepared with care and authenticity,” while others praise the restaurant for dishes that taste homemade. The main trade-off is the setting: the dining room is simple rather than luxurious, and lunchtime can become busy enough that guests may need to wait for a table.
The atmosphere at Asher's Africana Pure Vegetarian Restaurant feels intimate, informal, and community-oriented. Guests frequently mention the friendliness of the family running the restaurant, giving the experience more of a welcoming neighborhood café than a polished fine-dining venue. Traditional sweets such as Shrikhand, Mohanthal, and Puran Poli provide a satisfying finish after the savoury dishes.
Among the best restaurants in Wembley for affordable vegetarian food and authentic local dining experiences, Asher's Africana Pure Vegetarian Restaurant stands out through tradition, generosity, and genuine hospitality. Visit hungry, start with a Gujarati thali, explore the seasonal vegetable dishes and snacks, and finish with a classic Indian sweet.

My friend and I had an incredible experience at this restaurant! The service and the atmosphere were unique, the owner of the place welcomed us very warmely and showed attention and care that not many places (esp. in a metropolitan city!) are able to offer. He made us feel at home, carefully explained what dishes were like and answered all our questions. He made us try some food and drinks to be sure we like it before ordering a full portion. Portions are generous and prices really honest. They serve proper home-made food in a place that feels like home! This place is a true gem and I'll be back when I'll come back to London! Thank you for all the care!
We ordered methi na gota, mogo, bhel, dal kachori, mango lassi and chai. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavour. They serve a variety of garlic and green chilli chutneys with the starters, which go really well and add that extra touch. The service was impeccable. They have a huge range of starters and a Gujarati thali, so you’re really spoilt for choice. What makes this place special is the feeling. It genuinely feels like home. The owners look after you personally, and you feel welcomed rather than just served. The whole experience felt very wholesome. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
Absolutely loved my experience at Asher’s Africana Pure Vegetarian! If you’re craving authentic Gujarati flavors, this place is a hidden gem. Every dish on the thali was bursting with rich, comforting taste from the perfectly spiced curries to the soft, freshly made rotlis. The balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors was just spot on, exactly what makes Gujarati cuisine so special. What truly stands out is the quality and authenticity you can tell everything is made with care and traditional recipes. The presentation was simple yet inviting, and the meal left me feeling both full and happy. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy pure vegetarian Gujarati food at its finest. Definitely coming back for more!
I recently dined at Asher Veg Restaurant and it was a truly satisfying experience. The food was fresh flavourful and clearly prepared with care and authenticity. Each dish had a perfect balance of spices making every bite enjoyable without being overwhelming. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive, which made the visit even more pleasant. The restaurant has a clean, calm atmosphere that’s great for families and friends alike. If you’re looking for delicious vegetarian food in Wembley, Asher Veg is definitely worth a visit.
Today we went there for lunch. The vibes were homely and the staff were very friendly, kind and humble. We ordered pani puri, masala mogo, pizza samosa, aloo parantha, methi bhajia, puran poli and sweet lassi. Each dish was so freshly made, flavoursome and melt in mouth. They gave us 6 types of chutneys and each chutney was different and yummy. Food and service was mind blowing, I highly recommend this place. Mr. Kumar, the owner, was so kind and sweet; and generously offered us their delicious methi thepla on the house.
Incredible veggie thali - amazing choice of rotating curries, dizzying variety of chutneys and fantastic choice of breads. Such friendly service, and a warm atmosphere in a no-frills environment. Staff are attentive to vegan diet too.
Food here is too good! Fresh Gujarati offerings, from hand made chappatis, puri, curries and starters with pickles and all the trimmings! Literally home made taste and genuine authentic cooking here. Servers are all family, and treat you as such. One of the sons was showing us magic tricks while we waited for the order and was super engaging with the kids. I would give 10 stars for service if I could, it was perfect. The restaurant itself is clean yet basic, like canteen style. Nice AC kept us cool on a 34 degree day, and the toilet was clean too and basic once again. It was like a genuine restaurant in Gujarat, the server even offered to send someone for fresh squeezed juice for us from a few shops down if we wanted it - amazing service! They do not add tip so please tip these guys, they were amazing. I added some on the card then went back later with cash as it was such a great experience. In fact, after we paid, they gave the kids some chocolates as it was my son's birthday, but we'd already had cake before we came due to time constraints so we were full. But it was nice to be offered and some small desert too. It is a no frills and veg only restaurant so not usually my first choice but I would go back here in a heartbeat. Thank you to all the team and family at Ashers!
Asher's Africana is a must visit for all Indian food lovers. Absolutely authentic food, authentic people and great service. Asher is an amazing host and makes you feel welcome at this restaurant. Food is amazing and instantly took me back to childhood family meal memories. The restaurant is humble and unassuming, and defined by great cooking and service. I will visit again and recommend you do too PS: It is not Saravanaa bhavan. Please beware as the google review photos of Saravanaa Bhavan chain is misleading. Do not miss Asher's which is next to the food chain
